You’ll notice at times he actually makes videos talking about anime on one hand but you’ll notice some of the other content he makes that suddenly talk about video games that have nothing really to do with anime like some of his Resident Evil video’s or his content with The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. Mothers Basement has serious issues with trying to be consistent with some of the content he makes. Now let’s look at how Mothers Basement’s channel. Point is he took the show down with a fair analysis. The fact that characters can just use friendship to power through enemies because that’s what they can just do like when Erza Scarlet could just fly with her bones broken and just shatter a meteor like nothing. I thought he did a perfect job tearing apart the show based on how well he compared it to other shounen anime explaining how it fails as a shounen series, how well he broke down aspects like how characters just deus ex machina through story arcs because that’s what the plot needs them to do, and even looking at how Fairy Tail fails at even it’s most basic aspects. What I think makes a lot of sense from his videos is how he takes his time to analyze every aspect of a show and breaking it down. The best videos on his channel most notably are his Fairy Tail reviews. I like Crafts Dwarf a lot because of his overall big analysis on certain anime himself. My point is that he at least tries his best to find the deeper meaning within an anime and sometimes works hard to create videos that are nearly an hour long for his viewers. There are a few reviews I kind of disagree with. I’m not saying his word is gospel or anything. You would most likely know him well for his series on YouTube called Anime I F-Word Hate which is where he tears apart Anime he believes are actually stupid and really just pretend to have deeper meaning when they really don’t. Let’s start by comparing him to DXFan619 and Crafts Dwarf and see how he holds up against them.ĭXFan619 often makes reviews of anime and actually dissects the plot and writing of anime in a logical and coherent way that often feels satisfying when you watch his videos because there are actually real points when when discussing the plot in a series whether it would be bad or good. Now, where do I even begin really? Let’s start with comparing Mothers Basement with some of the best critics that analyze anime. Now with that in place, let’s get started. I have no problem whatsoever with people disagreeing with me. If people choose to defend him and the content he makes, they certainly have the right to say what they want to as long as it’s in a civil manner. I believe that such action is not only hypocritical but just plain awful as I never even met the guy in person so I have nothing against him as a person.Īlso, I do respect other people’s opinions. I believe that anyone has the chance to improve and actually make good content in the future by working hard and actually analyzing the real story in a series. I just believe that the content he makes and the way he produces it and the many, many issues it concerns me with the fanbase with the impact it creates makes him the worst anime YouTuber. I believe that Mothers Basement is only trying to do his job and get paid just like everyone else. Just to be clear, I’m not trying to say that he’s a bad horrible person or anything that would get him to be harmed. This right here is the biggest problem really with this guy and why he sucks so much but you will see this as we dive deeper into why Geoff Thew is the worst anime YouTuber I’ve ever seen. What it really comes down to with Mothers Basement is the fact that he pretends to make any real points with anime as the real puppetmaster behind him actually controls what he does and even on the surface makes no sense with any of his content. Before I get into why he sucks as a YouTuber so much, I want to take my time and start by scratching the surface with him. Geoff Thew (The Professional S-Word Bag) is a person that makes a ton of anime reviews and posts it on YouTube.
